Council Leadership Meetings & District Committee Training Workshops

Purpose
Council Leadership Meetings serve as a venue to share important information concerning Scouting in the Detroit Area Council between key council and district level leadership.  Meetings will take place 2 times a year; fall, spring and early summer.  The early summer meeting will include the annual District Operations Orientation.

Who Attends                                                  
General Meeting - District Chairs, District Commissioners, District Vice Chairs of Program, plus the district and council chairs of the following committees: Finance, Membership, Activities, Advancement, Camping, Training, Marketing and Venturing.

District Committee Training Workshop

The annual workshop trains members of the district committee and commissioner staff on district operations. The result is a well coordinated and dedicated group of Scouters committed to achieving the mission of the council and its districts.

Workshop Objectives
As a result of completing the workshop, participates will be able to:

• Define the four functions of district operations
• Identify the major tasks of their specific committee and define ways each task might be accomplished
• Identify responsibilities of the key district positions
• Understand why their particular assignment is essential to district operations
• Name other positions that interface with their assignment in the district

Who Attends

All members of the district committee including: Finance, Membership, Trianing, Camping, Advancement and Activities.District Commissioner, Assistant District Commissioners and Roundtable Commissioners.

Instructors: Council VP of Operations, Council Commissioner, Council Membership Chair, Council Fundraising Chair, Council VP of Program and the following council program chairs; Training, Advancement, Camping and Activities.
