1. All Scouts may earn these awards regardless of rank.
2. Troop, Post, Varsity Team or Venture Crew must camp for a minimum of a 24 hour period in a tent or shelter constructed by members of the unit.
3. Temperature must be 20 degrees or lower at some time during the event.
4. Three (3) meals must be cooked outdoors and eaten outdoors during the camping trip. Food must be raw, not canned.
5. Only Scouts, Venturers, and Scouters who attend the event full time are to receive the award.
6. The Unit Leader may pick up and pay for the emblems at the service center after the event.
7. Emblem is worn as a temporary patch.
