VOICES OF OUR YOUTH
PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST WINNERS

The Detroit Area Council’s 3rd Annual Voices of Our Youth Public Speaking Contest council finals was held Thursday, February 13, 2003.  The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for youth to develop public speaking skills, fulfill advancement requirements and to help celebrate Detroit Scouting’s 93rd Anniversary.

Event Chairman and Executive Board Member Randy Doran would like to thank and congratulate all the Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers who participated.  The quality of the speeches was very good and we are proud of your youth leaders. 

The final round included:   (Pictured from left to right)

  • Michael is a member of  Boy Scout Troop 1037
  • Jeffrey is a member of Boy Scout Troop 1407

VISIONS OF OUR YOUTH - ART CONTEST WINNERS

The Detroit Area Council’s 3rd Annual Visions of Our Youth Art Contest was held Thursday, February 13, 2003.  Along with the celebration of Detroit Scouting’s 93rd Anniversary, the purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for youth to depict in a form of a drawing, a preset theme of “One Flag, One Country.”    

Event Chairman and Executive Board Member Randy Doran would like to thank and congratulate all the Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos and Trailblazers who have participated.   The depiction of this years’ theme was very good and we are all proud of your youth leaders. 

All entries are currently on display at the Dauch Scout Center.
