WHO: Detroit Area Council registered Boy Scouts, Venturer and Explorers

HOW TO ENTER: Complete and submit the entry form.

All entries with a copy of your speech must be received at the Detroit Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, Dauch Scout Center 1776 W. Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48208 by the date indicated on the entry form.

JUDGING/COMPETITION:  There will be a preliminary and final round at the Council competition.   The purpose of preliminary judging is to select the top 3 finalist to go on to compete in the final round.

PRIZES: Each competitor will receive a Participation Certificate.  In addition to a participant certificate, the top 3 finalist will receive Series EE Savings Bonds.  1st place $1,000.00, 2nd place $500.00 & 3rd place $200.00.

New for 2008: All contestants who would like to participate in the council competition are invited. Some districts will conduct district level competitions, but participation in a    district competition is not required. District competitions are a great way for speakers to practice their speech in the heat of competition, promote participation and generate enthusiasm.   Check out your district's website to see if your district is conducting a district level competition.
