Snow Sports Merit Badge Session & Scout Family Ski Day

Scheduled for February 3, 2008

Where: 

Alpine Valley Ski Area (M-59 west about 15 miles west of I-75, 12 miles west of Telegraph)

When: 

  • Sunday, February 3, 2007
  • Check-in starts at 8:00 AM, MB Class starts promptly at 9:00 AM
  • Scouts & Scouters just skiing can check-in up until 11:00 AM
  • All activities will end by 4:00 PM

Who

  • All scouts (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers) and their leaders are invited to ski.
  • One non-Registered family member per Scout also qualifies for the discounted rates.
  • First 100 Boy Scouts and Venturers may sign up for Snow Sports Merit Badge (Downhill & Snowboarding Options)

Note: 

  • Snowboarding for Experienced Snowboarders ONLY! 
  • Snowboarders MUST bring their own equipment. Rentals are available but there is no discount and a credit card is required.

Pre-Registration:

REQUIRED. Scouts interested in this merit badge opportunity should contact their District Advancement Chair to pre-register by January 25th , 2007. 

Fees: 

Lift tickets & Ski Rental fees are payable at Alpine Valley.

  • All area lift tickets are $28.00 (regularly $36.00)
  • Ski Rental is $18.00 (regularly $22.00)
  • Lessons are $10.00 (regularly $14.00) NOTE: Scouts must be pre-registered for lessons.
  • Fees are payable at Alpine Valley

Prerequisites:

MB Scouts MUST read the Merit Badge Pamphlet; A test will be given at the end of their session.

Other Information:

  • Pre-registration for Merit Badge session by – January 25th, 2007.
  • All youth MUST have a unit permission slip with emergency / medical information.
  • Full attendance is required to earn the Merit Badge.
  • MB Scouts MUST bring a Blue Merit Badge application signed by their Scoutmaster.
  • MB Scouts MUST read the Merit Badge Pamphlet
  • No Walk-ins for the Merit Badge will be allowed.
  • Scouters & Parents are welcome to attend. Check with the District Advancement Chair first.
  • A minimum of one adult is required per group of Scouts.
  • Attendees should bring a bag lunch and drinks. SPECIAL NOTE: COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE LODGE. ALL FOOD AND DRINK MUST BE KEPT IN CARS AND CONSUMED OUT OF DOORS.
