Broken Paddle Trail

The Broken Paddle Trail is a 5 mile hike through selective cut logged areas, climax forest and scenic riverfront. Many Scouts have seen deer and numerous wild animals. This is also the area where bald eagles are seen. Completion of the trail earns a patch and medal. The trail starts across the suspension bridge; just follow the footprints. This trail may be guided by staff upon request. The Ottawa Loop crosses most of the Broken Paddle Trail except when it breaks off and travels through a burn area and follows more of the river. This trail is 8 miles long.
