Special Notices
  • Pray announced a new video Promoting Duty to God (Religious Emblems). It is for Scouters and will be distributed by BSA to promote religious emblems. It is an interfaith video which can be used in presentations to units (Cubs, Boy Scouts, Venturers) at roundtables or at training events like Cub Scout College or University of Scouting events.
  • We wanted to bring to your attention to a new piece from PRAY entitled " Increasing Membership Through Religious Emblems."  This article discusses how being familiar with the religious emblems program can help you call on faith groups. > Resources
  • The United Pentecostal Church and the Boy Scouts of America have signed a memorandum of support. The goal of this agreement is to increase the number of Pentecostal youth in Boy Scouts from 1500 to 5000 and the number of units in Pentecostal churches from 150 to 500 by the year 2005. To that end the Sunday School Division devoted the fall issue of their magazine "The Christian Educator" to explaining how this relationship can and should work. Also to celebrate the new relationship the Pentecostal Church has created new medal for the God and Church level of the God and Country Series as well creating a new Pentecostal medal for their God and Service adult recipients. For additional information on the new medals -- Religious Emblems Program > View the Emblem (PRAY).

To identify Pentecostal Churches in your council or district you can go to the United Pentecostal website www.upci.org and use their church locator. You can put the town and it will give information on the churches in your area including Church name, location, Pastor's name, and phone number.

  • The Presbyterian Church in America has created a new medal at the God and Church Level of the God and Country Program for their Adult God and Service recipients. Additional information on these new medals is available at View the Emblem.
