  • Congratulations goes out to:

Kevin Fox, D-bar-A Scout Ranch Food Services Director

Under Kevin's leadership, D-bar-A Scout Ranch is one of 10 winners of the nation wide Dawn Celebrations Contest sponsored by Proctor & Gamble.

 Gus Chutorash, Camping Director

Gus received the OB Eustis Environmental Award from Huron Pines.

Huron Pines is a not-for-profit conservation organization that serves the 11 county region of Northeast Michigan and works to achieve its mission through projects such as river restoration, watershed management, conservation leadership and land stewardship. Each year, at their annual meeting, they honor three recipients from throughout the 11 county service area.

One of this year’s recipients was our very own Gus Chutorash. Gus was recognized for his leadership, dedication and commitment to the Boy Scouts of America and Cole Canoe Base. Through Gus’ outstanding direction for the past 30 years, the camp has become a model for Conservation Education and is nationally recognized by the Boy Scouts of America as the leading Ecology and Conservation Program in the United States.
