An updated merit badge counselor list is being compiled. Please email Frank Matthews for your Troop copy, if you miss him at Roundtable.
The Mahican Chapter will now be meeting at the First United Methodist Church in Dearborn. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month. The Church is located at the corner of Garrison and Mason in Dearborn. Garrison is one block North of Michigan Avenue and Mason is about 1 mile West of Southfield Fwy, and about 1 mile East of Telegraph.

Chair, Unit Commissioners, Webelos to Scout Transition Chair, Friends of Scouting presenters. If you would like to step up and help in any of these positions please call Gerry Granum at (313) 897-1965, ext. 219. Continuously, we are recruiting for Huron District Committee & Commissioner Staff and trying to get the right people in the right slots to meet the districts’ need. Annually, we hold a nomination’s meeting for the district in an attempt to get many of the right people in place at one time. In 2007, many volunteers took on different positions within the Huron District, but we are still searching for a few good men and women to assist in key positions. The following positions are open. Please contact Rev. Erwin M. “Erv” Hutter and/or Gerry Granum if you are interested and/or require a job description:

This fellowship award, named after the first Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, is a national recognition for those who contribute $1,000 or more in cash or securities to the local council endowment fund. Each donor is recognized with a certificate, distinctive lapel pin/charm and an embroidered square knot.

Webs We want you to be able to use the District Website as the source for the most current information, dates, events, flyers, pictures, etc. We are asking that the submission of information be coordinated through the District Website Coordinator, who is responsible for what goes on and comes off the District Website. Information can be submitted by Event Coordinators; District Committee Members; Commissioners; Packs, Troops, and Crews Leaders. Information can be submitted as soon as it is available. Not only promoting activities before they occur but also telling what went on.
