The Outdoor Opportunity Fund, a 501c3 non-profit fund, gains support
from the Detroit Area Council Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams,
Venturing Crews, Explorers, Trailblazers, and other organizations and people who
believe that a disability should not prevent outdoor experiences from occurring.

Pack 273, Lakeshore District, has raised over $1000.. for
the trail, of this, Jacob Hook and Douglas Wilber III raised almost
$700.00.

The Nature Trail shelter is in use almost every week-end
since it's completion. It is also used during the week. The shelter has
been used by Learning for Life organizations, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts,
Venturing Crews, scouts with disabilities, Trail to Eagle and others.
There are a number of naming opportunities for the decks, bridges and walkways
along the path. Check out these worthwhile
naming opportunities.
We know that many units did not have a chance to participate
in the walk last year and we
hope to see you this year! We want you to have the opportunity to help, to work
towards some of your advancement requirements (such as Hiking, Disability
Awareness MB, etc), and to earn the Walk-a-Thon Patch.
