Fast Facts - How Volunteers & Supporters Can Help

Volunteers and supporters are always looking for things they can do to support Scouting. Here are some recommendations:

  • Enroll your child in Scouting.
They will love the experience—you will love the difference it makes in their life.
  • Become a volunteer.
Whether you volunteer to help out on a project or as a Scoutmaster, Scouting will be worth your time and effort.
  • Tell your neighbors about Scouting.
Young people enjoy Scouting and its activities, but they enjoy it more when their friends are involved.
  • Get your place of worship involved.
Synagogues, churches, and mosques are great places for spiritual and values-based activities.
  • Write a letter to the newspaper.
Tell them how Scouting has affected your life and community.
  • Write a letter to your United Way.
Let them know what a great job Scouting is doing in the community.
  • Contact the school board.
Thank them for the opportunity to use their facilities for Scouting functions.
  • Organize a color guard for community events.
It is important for people to see Scouting as a meaningful and vital part of the community.
  • Financially support a youth in need.
It costs less than 34¢ a day to support one youth in the Scouting program for a year.
